Normandy
has excellent transport links to the rest of France and also England and
Ireland, and we can help organise your travel once you arrive in either
France or England
There is a fast train service
from Paris which calls at both our local stations, Cherbourg and Valognes.
This service operates each hour and takes about Three hours to reach
Normandy. From other parts of France you will either travel via Paris or
Caen.
If
you are travelling from England, Brittany Ferries have services from both Portsmouth
and Poole to Cherbourg and Caen. The ferries operate all year round and offer several
crossing a day; the journey time is around five hours for the day crossing
and eight hours for the night crossings. Although there are fast ferries
during the summer months, which halve the crossing times.
Transatlantic flights use the Paris
or London Airports. We can organise your transport from the airport to our
region
If
you are hiring a car during you stay in France , we will send you route
planners to enable you to find us easily. Driving in France once you are
out of the larger towns and cities is a pleasure with very little traffic
on the roads.
